In Inter's semi-final clash with Barca, Thuram opened the scoring after just 30 seconds. He met a pinpoint cross from Denzel Dumfries and, remarkably, back-heeled the ball into the bottom corner, sparking wild celebrations in the away end at the Olympic Stadium.

Thuram's goal was his fourth in the Champions League this season and is the fastest ever scored in a last-four tie. He had been injured due to an adductor issue and missed their last two Serie A games, both of which Inter lost.
