According to The Guardian journalist Ed Aarons, Newcastle United are still in talks with Atlanta United over a move for Miguel Almiron, although the Magpies are yet to make an official bid for the talented playmaker.
“He will definitely go to England, what’s left to be decided is to what club but Newcastle is the one with the advantage,” the Daily Star recently quoted Almiron’s father, Ruben, as saying on Paraguayan radio station ABC Cardinal.
The 24-year-old managed 13 goals and 13 assists in his 38 appearances for MLS Cup winners Atlanta last season, and Newcastle have been strongly linked with a move over the last few weeks.
According to The Guardian journalist Ed Aarons, Newcastle are yet to submit a bid for the Paraguay international despite being interested, and West Ham United are also in the hunt.
The news has not gone down very well with the Newcastle supporters, with many feeling that their club will be unable to sign the 5ft 9in playmaker next month.
