Welcome to Wrexham date revealedSeries three to begin in AprilDisney+ will stream it in the UKWHAT HAPPENED?
Wrexham announced on social media that the new series will begin on April 18 on American streaming platform Hulu. Disney+ remains the home of the hit show in the UK, although it seems there is not yet a firm date as the streaming service used the same graphic to share the news but replaced April 18 with with 'coming soon'. In previous years, the series has been available to stream in the United States and UK on the same day, with no delays.

Previous seasons of Welcome to Wrexham have started much later in the calendar year. Series one, covering the 2021-22 football season, dropped in August 2022, while series two began streaming in September 2023. With an April start date for the new series, it will begin before the 2023-24 season has finished, meaning people will be watching the early episodes without knowing how the end will play out and if Wrexham will be successful in securing promotion to League One or not. That is unusual for a sports-based reality series. By April 18, there will be two games of the League Two season still to play, with playoffs potentially to follow depending on where the Red Dragons finish.
DID YOU KNOW?
Wrexham have reaped the financial rewards from the international exposure that their celebrity owners and the documentary series has generated. The club's most recent set of published accounts for the 2021-22 season showed revenue of just under £6 million ($7.6m), an enormous amount for a team in the fifth tier of Engish football at the time. That was a 404 per cent increase on the previous season, with income from retail alone accounting for £1.3m and sponsorships also totalling £1.1m. The latter is only continuing to grow, with Wrexham securing United Airlines as a front of shirt sponsor in 2023-24 and taking on deals with other international brands like Hewlett Packard and VistaPrint.

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have visions of Wrexham being a Premier League club. They have already secured promotion from the National League, but that journey needs to continue and this season's target remains getting out of League Two. Only a top three finish equates to automatic promotion, with the Red Dragons currently trailing third place Barrow by one one point, though the Welsh club have two games in hand. Leaders Stockport County are six points ahead. Wrexham do, however, have a healthy eight-point lead over eighth place in the table that would get them into at least the promotion playoffs.
