According to reports from London Football News, Leeds United are interested in signing QPR attacking midfielder Eberechi Eze.
The Englishman has been touted as one of the hottest prospects in the division, and if Leeds were to acquire his services, it would be a huge coup for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
Hot prospect
Eze burst onto the Championship scene as a teenager, and he was almost immediately highlighted as one of the division’s top prospects.
Scouts from Tottenham, Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool and Crystal Palace have all reportedly had a look at the youngster, and if they caught him on one of his best days, they would have been mightily impressed.
Bielsa has garnered a reputation for bringing the best out of hot young talents, and if he can get his hands on the 20-year-old, the sky is the limit as to how far he can go.
Changes in the midfield
Eze’s arrival would provide competition for Tyler Roberts in his attacking midfield role.
The Welshman moved into a number 10 role after Samu Saiz departed the club in January, and he impressed a number of fans while playing in that position.
But Roberts is a striker by trade and it remains to be seen whether it will be a permanent change of position.
Leeds have been linked with a plethora of strikers this summer, with Dwight Gayle, Michael Frey and Sam Gallagher a few of the names linked.
The arrival of Eze would kill two birds with one stone though. It would not only strengthen the midfield role that the 20-year-old would step into, but it would allow Leeds more depth up top as Roberts could return to his favoured position.
