Contract expires: June 2021
One of Germany's greatest ever strikers, Miroslav Klose is another who could come into contention to replace Low.
While the 42-year-old lacks any managerial experience, he has been learning the ropes in his role as assistant head coach at Bayern Munich and will be familiar with many of the players in the national team set-up.

A legend with Germany as a player, winning both the 1990 World Cup and Euro 1996, Klinsmann has fared rather less successfully as a manager.
However, he has experience in charge of Die Mannschaft, having been Low's predecessor, and has revealed that he is likely to step back into the management game in the future.

Current role: Head of global football development with FIFA
The Frenchman has found himself in the running for the Germany national team post, with him previously having been linked with the job during his time at Arsenal.
In 2019, meanwhile, he expressed his interest at working at Qatar 2022, telling : "I must say, I always wanted to go to the World Cup because I felt it is the job of a manager to be where the best football players in the world play football."

Current role: Unattached
Germany have never previously employed a foreign manager to lead their national team, making the Swiss ex-Dortmund boss an outside bet for the job.
Favre's decent record at Signal Iduna Park, especially when it comes to developing young talent, might, however, work in his favour.
