Birmingham youngster Charlie Lakin has emerged from the U23 team to star for the first team at St Andrews this season, but after dropping him in and out of the team it is finally time for Garry Monk to give the 19-year-old an extended run of starts.
Lakin has now made eight appearances in all competitions so far this season, four of which have been starts, after making his full Championship debut in the 0-0 draw with Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.

The Solihull-born youngster has been playing in the centre of midfield for Monk’s side and looks to be a huge talent.
Lakin is also a lifelong Birmingham fan and was first spotted by the Blues when playing for Walsall U9s, so he should have the drive and passion to succeed if given an extended chance in the first-team.
So, Birmingham fans, we want to know whether you think Lakin is good enough to stay in Monk’s starting XI for the weeks to come, or if he should be used sparingly. Have your say by voting in the poll below.
