Celtic fans aren’t happy with defender Jozo Simunovic after he was sent off in a friendly against Swiss outfit St. Gallen on Tuesday night.
The Hoops have been busy preparing in Austria and Switzerland for the season ahead, with the first competitive encounter coming in less than a week’s time against Bosnian champions FC Sarajevo.
The match against St. Gallen was their final tune up and an energy sapping 90 minutes resulted in a 0-0 stalemate, with Neil Lennon’s side not quite managing to find the cutting edge that could punish the hosts.
The fans in the video below had some very strong words for Michel Platini who was detained over alleged corruption this week…
Simunovic managed to get himself sent off in the 75th minute, after VAR revealed to the referee he had gone in far too high and recklessly with his boot on the head of an opponent.
It’s the kind of defensive mishap that Celtic will need to avoid in upcoming qualifiers.
A red card could prove costly in that process and the Croatian stopper will have to show more sense.
Supporters weren’t happy with his ill discipline, with many taking to Twitter to share their thoughts…
