West Bromwich Albion should make it one of their top priorities to sign Harvey Barnes and Dwight Gayle on permanent deals next summer.
What’s the word?
It is early days in the Championship season, but Barnes and Gayle have certainly made an early impression at The Hawthorns.
The club recruited Barnes from Leicester City on a season-long loan, while Gayle joined from Newcastle United on a similar structure.
The pair have scored nine goals between them and they have formed a decent attack alongside Jay Rodriguez.
If they continue to shine, then it should be one of the club’s top priorities to secure them on permanent deals.

Is it possible?
There has been no official word about whether the loan deals include options to buy, but it is unlikely.
The Baggies may struggle to land 20-year-old Barnes on a permanent deal given that Leicester will not want to let go one of their academy products if he continues to thrive.
With regards to Gayle, a lot will probably depend on how the season finishes for West Brom and his parent club Newcastle.
If the Magpies suffer relegation from the Premier League, then they will not want to let any in-form players leave.
Although, they have the Baggies’ attacker Salomon Rondon on loan at St James’ Park, so perhaps a deal could be struck.
The players will have plenty of say in where they want to be, and West Brom will certainly have an advantage if they achieve promotion.
