Since joining Al-Hilal in the summer of 2023, Neymar has not had the best of luck as he has suffered from injuries and spent most of the last two years on the sidelines, even after having made his comeback to Santos in January. The Brazilian has managed to feature in only 12 games for his boyhood club since his move to the Brazilian Serie A side amid a lack of fitness and struggles with injuries.

Santos have now confirmed that Neymar is set for another stint on the sidelines after having tested positive for Covid-19. The statement from the Brazilian Serie A side confirmed that the former Barcelona star has been isolating since testing positive on Thursday.
WHAT SANTOS SAID
In an official statement, Santos wrote: "With a viral condition that began on Thursday (June 5), Neymar Jr. underwent laboratory tests, after evaluation by the Medical Department of Santos FC, which confirmed infection by Covid-19.
"The player had already been away from activities since Thursday, when he began showing symptoms, and remains resting at home and undergoing symptomatic treatment, as determined by a doctor."

In theory, the Brazilian superstar will not be missing a single game for Santos due to his infection, as he was already banned for their match against Fortaleza on Friday. Santos' next game will come against Palmeiras almost a month later due to a break for the Club World Cup.
